My wife and I are attending a 3-Day #FinancialMasteryClass led by #ThanMerrill this weekend. It's an intensive real estate investing and financial education series.
Ever since the training began yesterday, it has been a series of 'A-ha Moments' for me. The insights and secrets being unearthed by the Facilitators are simply out-of-this world.
Guys, nothing can take the place of #FinancialEducation. And while at it, I'd advice you not to forget to carry your spouse/partner along with you. Don't go alone if you don't want to get lost. Lol
But on a more serious note, let's always remember to carry our spouses/partners along. It won't kill you, as a man, if your wife knows as much as you know or even more than you do.
Marriage is not a competition! Plus, success is sweeter when you have a wonderful company to enjoy the ride with.
My first #KeyTakeaway from this intensive immersion was seeing a #WhiteMan in his 50s attending the $1,500 worth of training with his 2 teenage Sons (aged 16 and 19 respectively).
Yes, you heard me right. Those boys are underage and are supposed to be playing video games at home, like millions of other American kids. It's summer break for them. Yet their Dad saw the importance of #investing in their future. A friend once told me of how her father made her accompany him to the #BoardMeeting of company he has just been invited to join as Board Member.
There's more to #parenting than sending kids to school and threatening them to make good grades; we need to give them wings to fly and show them how the real world operates. We need trans-generational parents; folks who would break away from the limiting beliefs of their parents and perpetrate a new legacy for their families. The world needs such world-class families.
On seeing those boys, something #snapped in me and I made a silence #promise to always carry my children along... Not just my wife any longer.
Guys, the best legacy we can leave for our children is not an inheritance or even over-priced Degrees but qualitative #FinancialEducation.
An African adage asserts: "A child that you refuse to BUILD will AUCTION out all the houses you #build". Let's invest in our children.
Walmart's founder, Sam Walton, was fond of forcing his young kids, back then, to work in one of the numerous WalMart stores in Bentoville, Arkansas during their summer breaks while their friends were watching TV. And he paid them per hour! He said he wanted them to know the value of a Dollar.
Today, all his children are billionaires and they are rated among top 100 Billionaires in America, according to Forbes.
WHAT ARE YOUR CHILDREN DOING THIS SUMMER? Hmmmm. . .
